But I'm not bothered. The ones who have kids have really nice looking kids and quite a great family life too.

I'd be a lot more bemused if they ended up with a douchebag. Actually, I'd be pretty ticked off if they didn't end up having a great life. The only time I got my strings pulled is when an ex started dating the bassist from my and her favourite band. That sucked on so many levels. Originally Posted by You'reasian.

We're all shallow to some extent! If I had an ex who said he'd marry me, and he suddenly went out with Megan Fox I'd climb a bridge!! Though as shallowness goes, I suppose you should be more upset if he's with a tweeker scuz, especially if you were dumped for one. Darwinism probably says that you should be upset if he's with a unattractive women, because if that's his TYPE At least you know he has good taste, and went out with you too!

My Ex Is Dating Someone New: Are We Done For Good?

You can feel it in you bones. My advice is to regard her with the same level of interest and companionship that you would anyone who shares a similar life experience. This is kinda valid. I know, it sucks. You have so many feelings to share and you need someone to share them with.

There is definitely value in talking it over with someone close to you, but be considerate of their time and patience. Sometimes, when you find out your ex has moved on, your brain broadcasts the following message on repeat: You shave your legs, you watch makeup tutorials, you buy pretty new things, you do anything and everything you can think of to get some attention, and then you still feel icky. Instead of looking to an outside source for approval, maybe take a couple days to re-anchor yourself. Make a list of all the things you do well and all the good qualities you possess and then spend a little time coloring or reading or running or whatever helps you decompress.

Basically, you need to fall back in love with yourself.
